Private houseThis successful new house replaces a post-war house that was built on poor ground within the valley, and had to be demolished.
Planning was obtained for this replacement dwelling within the Green Belt and the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The new house is around 30% larger than the one which it has replaced, and has been constructed on piled foundations.
The new house has been designed to take advance of the topography and setting. The internal layout and positioning within the site has provided privacy, excellent daylight all day long in the main family rooms, and far reaching views. The day-to-day entrance has been placed on the north side, leading into a utility room with en-suite shower, before breaking into the main family areas. A large kitchen dining area has been created with a triple aspect, leading onto a private paved courtyard, ideal for small children to safely play.
The house was project managed by the owner, and completed within a year of starting.
