Tollbridge Studios

For Tollbridge Properties

Background

This former printworks was converted to provide our practice with its own office and studio space. It is set close to the River Avon with beautiful views down the valley towards Limpley Stoke.

Design

The building was subdivided to provide two smaller units for letting, whilst retaining the larger open plan space. Each space can operate independently, with separate entrances, kitchenettes and toilets.

Technical

The original industrial history of the building has been preserved, whilst the roof has been insulated and punctured with rooflights to maximise the use of daylight. The lofty clear spans were softened with acoustic blankets and direct south light from new rooflights is bounced against canvas deflectors to provide a warm diffuse light.
