Refurbished and Extended Family House
This bungalow had a poor quality loft conversion. We re-worked the upper level as well as adding some 'wow' to the building.
We removed the existing roof and replaced with a larger, steeper one. By removing the ceiling in the Dining Room, we linked the two sides of the house with a 'bridge' that enables you to look down into the dining space.
We improved the thermal performance of both the roof and the end gable walls, which were rebuilt. The roof was designed to meet a U value of 0.15W/m2°C and high performance Velux rooflights were used throughout. Low energy lighting was used and a simple condensing combination boiler has replaced the old gravity system.
